Pecans

Pecans

Pecans are the only tree nuts that are native to North America. They grow throughout Mexico and the Southern United States. It is not uncommon to find pecan trees growing in metropolitan areas. Pecan trees may live and bear edible nuts for over three hundred years.

Pecans easily absorb odors from other foods so always store pecans in an airtight container. Pecans can last up to 6 months in the refrigerator and about a year in the freezer.
